James + Caroline – August 1st, 2015

2016-03-23

I have been jumping in my seat with anticipation ever since I photographed James and Caroline’s wedding last Summer to share these images! This was a pretty big wedding for me for a few reasons. It was my first wedding of the 2015 season that I got to use my new camera (which has since, changed my life. Dear canon 5D mark iii, you’re a game changer)! It was also the first wedding I had booked in 2014 for one of my larger packages, heyo! Julia, who was my intern in 2014 became my team member in 2015 and second shot this dream of a day with me! It was the first wedding we shot together after Julia’s wedding last year, so it was an all around happy day!

This was my first time photographing at White Chimeys Estate and I can’t say enough good things about the staff + this venue. The lighting in each room was so amazing, the property opportunities are endless and gorgeous and the staff was super friendly and happy to help whenever and where ever needed! Brides, if you’re still on the hunt for a venue make sure to check them out!

Caroline’s dress was from BHLDN, basically the prettiest store ever to exist. Stacia from Petals With Style NAILED it with the florals. The blush/cream color combos mixed with the warm summer sun and deep green grass/foliage was beyond perfect for James and Caroline’s romantic, whimsical day. And that flower crown! Man. It deserves all of the heart eyes.

James and Caroline have been together more years than the fingers on your hands can count. They are the peanut butter to one another’s jelly, the milk to the oreo cookie, the.. well you get the picture! They sharpen one another, compliment one another in all of the right ways and now, they complete each other. It was such a beautiful love commitment to be a part of. And they’ve even just shared some pretty big and stinkin’ exciting news! James and Caroline are expecting their first child!!! This babe is bound for some gorgeous locks, breathtaking eyes and the sweetest of souls. Everyone in James and Caroline’s family made Julia and I feel so welcomed and special. They were all so kind and just.. happy! It was the most joyous of days down to the every last element and detail.  Also, holy dancing. This was prrrobably the biggest dance party I had been a part of! They weren’t messin’ around. There were so many personable elements through out the reception that made it feel so fun and entertaining and the least bit stiff or boring. One of my favorite parts was when James surprised everyone and popped his head out from under Caroline’s dress three times (during the garter game) and had three different masks and “characters” on each time, HA! It created a loud roar of applause from their guests. These two made their wedding day very “them” and it was priceless.

I’ll stop swooning over this day and finally let you swoon for yourself over the images! Enjoy!

Greg + Candace

2016-03-21

It was such an absolute pleasure to photograph Greg and Candace one week before their February wedding. Candace had contacted me to set up a styled elopement in the woods one week before their wedding day. As soon as she sent me her pinned inspiration I knew this was going to be magical! My good friends and videographers Kent and Ashleigh Mast of Kent Mast Photo & Video joined in this collaboration and it was an all out beautiful time. We had so much fun exploring Pinnacle Overlook during sunset! Greg and Candace even ended the evening reading their wedding vows to one another and every single one of us had teary eyes. It was such a neat moment!

Greg had been previously married for seventeen years, and Candace was previously married for fifteen years. Both of their spouses left them at the thirteenth year of marriage. Through their individual trials they both unknowingly held onto the same verse of Scripture for assurance that The Lord was still present. Here are some of their words:

“Through our trials SO much good has come. God has taken us through the desert, we’ve learned huge life lessons and this marriage is a promise, blessing and a huge celebration for our families who have seen us through it. Our kids are excited and we are grateful to give them a Godly example of marriage.” (Candace has two sons, and Greg has a daughter.)

I am so in love with this couple, the video that Kent and Ashley captured and these images.

Mackenzie Harley – Styled Senior Session – Style By Rae

2015-12-03

Introducing Kylie Jenner… I mmmmean Mackenzie Harley’s senior portraits! You know you’re thinking it too. 😉

Mackenzie is the younger sister of Kelsey Rae, our fabulous team stylist! I was so excited to collaborate with these two cuties. The Harley’s have been blessed with good looks and modeling skills that kick butt, lemme tell ya. Kelsey came up with our location, outfits, hair/makeup and props. She never disappoints! Pinnacle Overlook is one of my favorite spots. I’ve always wanted to photograph here, so when Kelsey and I began coming up with ideas I was immediately so excited when she thought of going here for the shoot. The sunset this night was unreal. It provided such a soft, hazy glow and thus, I am obsessed with these images forever.

Mackenzie has a heart of gold, gorgeous locks, and the cutest giggle. It was such an honor to capture her senior portraits and get creative together. Enjoy a few of my favorites!

2015-10-12

FRIENDS! Remember that one awesome time we added Kelsey Courtney of Style By Rae to our team as an official stylist!? Well it’s time to unveil the very first session Kelsey and I got to team up together for! Kelsey styled the outfits, hair, makeup and locations. Seriously, I can’t emphasize how important it is to consider adding on our new stylist options to make your session all that you’ve dreamed of. Kelsey is so talented at what she does and always aims to make her clients look and feel their best.

It also doesn’t hurt that this senior, Danielle Lehman just signed with a modeling agency three weeks ago and has already worked some jobs for Khols! Seriously, this girl has got all the model juice flowing through her body. She was the perfect kick off session to our MNP + SBR collaboration. It was the perfect sunny evening strolling around downtown Lancaster City. Kelsey did such a great job location scouting and picking out the perfect, creative and fun areas for us to use.

Seniors if you are interested in booking your portraits with us and wondered what the perks are to adding Style By Rae elements to your session here is a fantastic example of what you can expect: 100% on point professionally styled outfits, hair/makeup, props, location scouting and styling, laughs, fun hair whips, IG’s + PHHHOTO grabs. It’s a good, good time. Spots are completely filled for October on my calendar, however team members Tori and Julia still have openings and my November still has some openings! Contact us ASAP! We’d love to “shoot” you! :)

Now go on, drool a little bit…

Style By Rae – Collaboration

2015-08-07

YOU GUYS. Julia, Tori and I have some big new’s we’ve been waiting anxiously to share. We are beyond excited to announce our new super exciting collaboration and team member. Kelsey Courtney of Style By Rae is officially the Meagan Nicole Photography team stylist!!! WHUUUUT. Shut the front door. No really, it’s true! Kelsey is an extremely talented stylist in all facets and we are so excited to mesh our love for capturing authentic moments with beautiful style crafted to fit your personality.

I’ve known Kelsey ever since 10th grade in high school. We both quickly bonded over the fact that we were the only girls in school who admittedly used a tanning bed. Ever since I’ve loved watching Kelsey evolve in her style; she’s always been one of my go to’s for social media style stalking (just to be honest). Even more exciting then her amazing style joining our team is the fact that she’s an expecting mama for the first time!! Follow her along on IG with her #ourbabycourtney updates, you won’t regret it. Although you might come down with a heavy case of baby fever and jealousy that this girl can rock just about anything with that bump.

We’ve been scheming up way’s to make the MNP experience even better for all of our clients, so when Kelsey contacted us with the idea we instantly knew this is what we were looking for to take MNP to the next step. This will now provide clients with the option of outfit styling, makeup/hair styling AND location styling. Whose ready to jump aboard the awesome train!? We’ve perfected a ton of new options and packages for you to choose from and we can’t wait to get started. Style By Rae is officially available to book, but dates are filling up fast (and I’m not just saying that). We want to get everyone in so please make sure to email us asap to get your date on the calendar! Side note, another awesome side fact: Kelsey’s husband is a can’t-keep-your-butt-in-your-seat rocking DJ and owns The Electric Gentlemen who we highly, highly recommend for any of you engaged love birds out there. Is this just the dream team or what..

xoxo,

Meagan Nicole Photography + Style By Rae

Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved clothes! I would change my outfit three times a day and I would turn my room into a make believe consignment shop! This passion continued as I began working in retail when I was 16 years old. My first retail job was at Bakers Shoes were I was trained in selling and styling. My love for styling grew as I moved onto working at the LOFT, where I was elected style captain of our store’s team! I was responsible for creating fashion inspiration for the LOFT employees and helping them style our clients!

Several years ago, I began an Etsy shop called, That Cat Dress, where I friend and I thrifted vintage, eclectic, and high-end clothing. It was so much fun searching for unique styles to sell in our shop! To this day, one of my favorite things to do is thrift vintage items and mix them in with my modern wardrobe!

I’ve been following style bloggers for years and I’ve gained so much inspiration from many of them that I decided to start my own style blog!  I finally took the leap and launched my blog, Style By Rae, in May of 2015. My main goal with my blog is to show trendy styles at an affordable price! – Kelsey “

Favorite Make-Up Choice: My go-to make up product is my Urban Decay Naked Flushed palate! It’s a trio compact that includes a bronzer, blush, and highlight! It’s so easy to throw in my bag and it looks beautiful on your skin during every season!

Signature Outfit Piece: My favorite item to add to almost any outfit would be a classic denim jacket. I throw my favorite GAP denim jacket over dresses and high-waisted skirts all the time! Recently I’ve been experimenting with mixing denim pieces and tying my jacket around my waist for a more edgy look!

Matt and Ali – July 5th, 2014

2015-03-25

I was looking forward to photographing Matt and Ali’s wedding day ever since their engagement session. They’re the kind of people I immediately felt a connection with; anyone probably would. They’re kind hearted, warm, fun, adventurous.. the list goes on! I wanted to burst out and say “can we be best friends!?” but thought I better not scare them off ..(play it cool meg, play it cool). Their wedding day was nothing short of beautifully and amazingly awesome. Is that too many adjectives?

This country-chic wedding took place in the woods (yyyyyesss) at Rocky Top Lodge – hands down one of my favorite venues to date. The rustic camp-cabinesque vibe and sun soaked woods made for some beyond dreamy images. Creamy colors mixed with bold navy blue and lavender purple hit the spot. Ali poured her heart and soul into their big day and all of it’s details. It was so evident in how relaxed the entire day felt as well as how wonderful everything came together. This couple loves one another and they love their family. It was so neat to witness them honoring Christ, family and each other in special moments of the day. One of my favorites was when Matt came down from the arbor to walk Ali up the stairs, and he took a minute to not just hug but embrace each parent. They also had their parents read a letter/blessing during the ceremony which provided many tears, smiles and laughter. Matt was so attentive and eager to see his bride, it was adorable. The anxious/overwhelming sense of love and excitement made this day so memorable. It also (obviously) made me SO excited for my own wedding (which was just a few months later). Ali was so sweet and welcomed me with a “you’re next!!!” hug. I just love these two.

I’m a huge campfire lover so you know I was all about the bonfire they had on the yard after sunset with the sound of laughter and dancing fading into the night. Katherine (my intern at the time) and I had such a great time photographing this special, special day and couldn’t be happier to share it with you all. Whose ready for this summer time sunshine!? Makes me so excited for all of the 2015 weddings coming up.

Kent and Ashleigh

2015-03-11

Kent and Ashleigh have been dear friends of mine for quite some time. We first met through photography because Kent is the mastermind behind Kent Mast Photo and Video. It’s a pretty cool story because I got to witness Kent and Ashleigh when they were first hanging out and Kent began to pursue Ashleigh with his whole heart to make her his girlfriend. Then they got engaged in South Carolina and I got to photograph it – so awesome. They celebrated a year of marriage and now.. a baby is on the way! And of COURSE I had them video my very own wedding day! There’s no one better in the business. If you have yet to hire a videographer let me tell you 1. You MUST. It captures your day in a way photos cannot, we highly recommend it, and 2. KMPV is the best you will ever find. So, so worth it. We always love when we get to work weddings together and often refer to ourselves as “the dream team”.

I had such a blast adventuring around  in the woods around my new home for these photos! During our session the perfect warm, summer time rain storm passed through and we took total advantage of it. These are hands down some of my favorite images ever. It doesn’t hurt that I’m pretty fond of the folks in them. They’re such sweet souls and I am so excited to watch them become parents! Thank you so much Kent and Ashleigh for your support over the years, business talks, spiritual talks, adventures and friendship. Looking back at these photographs I can’t help but smile at your pure, true love for one another!

Mason – Lifestyle Session

2015-02-10

I am so excited to finally be sharing all of the amazing sessions and weddings I shot in 2014! I have some major blogging and catching up to do. I thought I’d start with this adorable little man, Mason. This was my second year photographing him and we already have the next date for 2015 on the calendar – I’m so pumped! Mason has such an outgoing personality! He didn’t hold back in front of the camera or shy away from serenading me with his little guitar. ADORABLE. It’s so great to not only capture someones special season in life, but to have the chance to follow them along throughout life and continue to capture the change and growth in all their different seasons. Here are a few of my favorite shots from our Summer play-date in the park. :)
