Matt and Anne braved the cold, fresh, knee deep snow levels to get adventurous and capture some beautiful winter engagement portraits. I love when clients trust my vision and creative ideas. We all instantly hit it off and it felt like I was trekking through the snow with old friends. I guess that’s pretty easy to do when you’re bonding over your love for crime/mystery tv shows – ha! Criminal Minds, Forensic Files, How To Make A Murderer, Law and Order SVU, just give me all the murder mystery shows! I love a couple after my own netflix lovin heart.

My next wedding of the year is coming up in March for these two love birds, Jason and Karlee! In honor of that, I thought I would share their adorable engagement session from this past Summer. I mean, just look at that awesome hat! It was a perfect summer evening at Chickies Rock, and we even ended the session dipping our toes in the river. Well, poor Karlee wound up taking a bit more of a dip then the rest of us, but she was such a trooper and it made for some stunning shots of them laughing together at the thought of her spill. Luckily, that happened at the end of our session! Jason and Karlee fit together like peanut butter and jelly. Seriously! These two are golden together and I can’t wait to be a part of their Spring time wedding.

This was my third year to photograph the Sitch family! And this time was even more special because Brianne was pregnant with their daughter, who they welcomed to the world September 15th, 2016. She is just the sweetest little thing! Karson was full of energy and smiles as usual! Each year that I photograph him he is not only a little bit bigger but it’s so neat to see him developing such a fun, easy going personality!
We photographed this session in Herhsey, PA and I think it’s safe to say that I’ve found a new favorite location! The end of summer sunshine and gorgeous floral trellis added such beautiful elements to our session.
Here are a few of my favorites!

This is a pretty exciting blog post for me to share because it is of our team member Julia!!! Before Julia was a part of Meagan Nicole Photography, and before I even knew her lovely soul existed, she hired me as her wedding photographer in 2013! Shortly after her engagement session, Julia applied for our 2014 Summer internship. Needless to see she was awesome and we asked her to be a part of our team full time! Julia had her first year as an official team member with us in 2015, but that wasn’t the even the highlight of the year for her. I’m pretttttty sure the highlight would have been.. ya know.. GETTING MARRIED! It was such a special occasion getting to photograph this beautiful couple (finally!!) after having the chance to build relationship with them and becoming team members with Julia. 🎉
It was so great to see all of Julia’s hard work and planning come to life. Nate and Julia have such a neat story which made all the emotions of their day even more heightened and special. It was such a blessing to be their photographer and capture these memories for them! After joining the married club, Julia began photographing her first wedding season! Getting married always brings such a depth to the work we are doing as wedding photographers. There are so many parts through out the day that tug on our hearts and give us a better understanding of the importance in what we are capturing.
I knew how excited Julia was about Nate’s “Vera Wang” grey suit, so when I shot Nate’s portraits I immediately rejoiced out loud “Julia is going to LOVE these. It’s so vera!”.. haha. Once Nate saw Julia and told her what I said about his portraits, Julia was geeking out and bubbling with excitment – “It’s so Vera” quickly became our go to slogan through out the day, ha! Also, Bring On The Bash was Nate + Julia’s DJ and let me tell ya, he surely brought the bash! I would highly recommend Taylor to any brides currently in need of a wedding DJ. Anything Beyonce is Julia’s jam, so the minute her songs came on the dance floor lit up! It was great.
Enjoy taking a look into our team member Julia’s wedding day!
Leave Julia some love in the comments below, or if you’re a current bride-to-be in search of a budget friendly photographer, click on the “contact” tab and inquire with Julia for her current availability. You can count on the fact that if you play beyonce at your wedding, she’ll bust out some dance moves. 🙂

2015 was a bit of a crazy year for me with bookings. I was so blessed to be the busiest I have ever been with photography and because of that, I let blogging take to the back burner so that I could focus all of my attention on shooting and editing. I am so excited to finally have found an amazing work flow that helps me get images out faster, and be able to have time to blog all those lovely images I am taking + editing! I am going to be taking some time now over the next month to catch you up on all that 2015 for me with so many wonderful weddings and sessions.
James and Stephanie were one of my very first weddings of 2015. I still had my old camera and a different way of editing, so it’s kind of crazy to look back and see how much I’ve grown just within one year. In 2015 I challenged myself to be the best that I could be with what I had. I continued to push past boundaries and grow as a photographer in a few different ways – posing, lighting, editing, knowledge, and equipment. Even though these images remind me of how far I’ve come, I still am so in love with them. Mainly because of this couple. I mean, just look at them! The minute I saw Stephanie’s gold/champagne wedding gown I knew I would be swooning all day long. And the sunset/rooftop images? Just stop. I get goosebumps all over again just looking at them!
These two newlyweds are best friends and that is obvious to anyone who gets the chance to be around them. They’re a kind, generous, BEAUTIFUL and fun duo that I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to meet and photograph. The ceremony was held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, and their reception followed at The Yorktowne Hotel. The Yorktown Hotel was so full of bright, natural light which was such a dream. We ended the evening up on their rooftop, marveling at the skyline and warm cream/blush tones hazing the sky. I am just in love with the shots we grabbed dup there! I think I am going to let these images speak for themselves..

I’ve photographed Mason every Summer for the past three years! Part of being a photographer is getting to become part of a tradition in people’s lives year after year. I love it! I’ve watched this little goober grow up from one year old to three years old. I especially love when I run into these clients when I’m out and about at a grocery store, or running errands. It’s amazing that I get to meet people that I may never have known and build relationship with them all thanks to doing something that I love so much. I’ll never stop being thankful for that.

I photographed Steve and Sarah’s engagement photos in June, and then photographed their wedding in October (photos to come soon). The minute I met them I instantly felt like I was meeting up with two best friends. They were so kind and friendly and we all instantly felt at ease with one another. We had the best time walking around the town they grew up in and live in nestled in a quaint little nook of Baltimore. The streets were colorful, and all the smiles and laughs were 100% real and unprovoked. These two just light one another up! It was adorable and made my job effortless. Oh, and Steve even busted out in the worm for me. I mean, that’s an instant win. It is always such a blessing to have clients who trust me and my vision for their photographs and are willing to get adventurous!
I’ll be posting their wedding images super soon! But until I do, take some time to get to know Steven and Sarah with my favorite’s from our engagement session together.

Well, today on the blog I am kicking it way back. This past Summer I had the absolute pleasure to photograph my dear friends Kent and Ashleigh in their first pregnancy! Kent, Ashleigh and I have been friends for awhile now and I’ve been blessed to photograph Kent’s proposal, first engagement photos, their one year anniversary photos, and now their maternity photos! Kent and Ashleigh run an amazing photography and videography business together (they were the videographers for my wedding!). Kent and I have enjoyed many years brainstorming business ideas together, shooting weddings together, and collaborating any chance we can get. So it’s pretty clear that these people are super special to me.
Kent and Ashleigh welcomed their son Kai into the world on September 6th around 1:22am. He is the cutest little thing, and I just can’t wait to meet him! I love reflecting back on these photos now, knowing what little man was growing inside of Ash. Kai you are so loved by such sweet, amazing parents and family and friends. I can’t wait to see the places you will go little babe!
Here are a few of my absolute favorites from our time together!

Where do I even begin? Josh and Carolyn are two of the sweetest, kindest, relaxed, adventurous couples that I have ever photographed. Do you know how I know this? Because their wedding day was in the middle of a BLIZZARD! Yes, the Jonas 2016 snow blizzard we experienced two weekends ago just so happened to be on their wedding day. But that didn’t make them stress! They completely embraced the blizzard and it made for some amazing memories.
Carolyn and I had been in contact with one another starting Thursday evening, coming up with all different plans depending on what the weather had in store for us. Friday I got the call that the wedding had been moved to The Marriott hotel at Penn Square in Downtown Lancaster. Josh and Carolyn’s family and friends decided to make a weekend out of their event and everyone stayed at the hotel Friday-Sunday. Caleb and I were so blessed to be offered a room for the weekend and decided what better way to get snowed in then at a huge hotel!? One of my favorite memories from this wedding was that my husbands work got closed for the day and he actually got to be my assistant for the day and shoot the wedding with me! It was so much fun being “stranded” for the weekend in our own little hotel room, walking the streets of the city and meeting up with some of our friends at a local bar. I was on such a high getting to work and do what I am most passionate about with my best friend by my side. He was such a big help and even captured some of the awesome images you’ll see below!
I was totally nervous since this was my first wedding I would be shooting entirely indoors. Being a natural light photographer I was so worried about lighting and backdrops, etc. But the entire staff at The Mariott was so helpful and pointed out some hidden gems through out the building. Side note: through out our stay at the Marriott I had never been so pleased with such great hospitality and service. I give them 5 stars and beyond! As soon as I put Josh and Carolyn by a huge window, that’s when the magic happened. I was so excited and obsessed with the windows + snow creating a sea of white, natural light. I am so obsessed with how they turned out.
Needless to say, this wedding was the most relaxed, intimate day. Everyone was snowed in together and Caleb and I couldn’t help but feel like we’d been friends with everyone forever! We felt so welcomed and appreciated.
Josh and Carolyn were all for going out in the snow to grab a few quick shots which was so much fun. The wind was whipping snow into my face and I could barely see a thing, but what I could see was all of us laughing and smiling and I thought to myself .. Gosh, I love my job.
Josh and Carolyn are expecting their first child and I couldn’t think of two people who are better fit to be parents. They are going to spoil their little babe with so much love, I just know it. It was such a blessing to witness their laid back, friendly attitude throughout the entire wedding day. These two are golden together.
Thank you so much to the entire staff at The Marriott, and to Josh and Carolyn’s family for all of the kindness and fun memories.
I am so excited to share these images with you all!
