I had such a wonderful time venturing around the sunken gardens at Lauxmont Farms with Armin and Rebecca. You know how conversation just comes natural with some people? Well, the story remains true with these two. Our time together was so easy going and fun. They allowed me to get creative and were up for trying anything I asked them to do. So excited to share these images with you all!

I had always heard about this sweet Kayce Shoffner, and what a talented photographer she was, but had never had the chance to meet her. The Shoffner’s had planned their annual trip to disney and we decided it would probably be a pretty cool idea to capture their family in the sunshine state and how glad I am that we did! Kayce and Brett are just about the sweetest people and not to mention, the coolest parents to their two cuties. We ventured all around downtown Winter Garden, collected rocks, picked oranges from a bitty tree and collected just about every stick in town, or at least Avery did. How fun to have a job that brings such fun moments and nights into our lives.
Enjoy!

I am so excited to finally be blogging Jenna’s senior portraits! She is one sweet, stylish, photogenic girl. The glorious sunshine and wheat fields weren’t too shabby either. Jenna is also a young, aspiring photographer with quite the eye for creativity! It was such an honor photographing her. Enjoy a few of my favorite images from our time together!

My cousins make the cutest baby boys! Drew and Tucker are going to be such heart throbs. I absolutely love photographing real moments and real emotions. That’s the awesome thing about lifestyle sessions. I stand back and let life happen and capture life happening; fruit-snacks-in-hand-newborn-cries and all. I love it! Life is un-replaceable. Talking about life, is it just me or is this baby boomers circa 2015!? IT’S AWESOME. I love babies! I don’t get to do much of newborn portraiture but when I do, I’m in heaven. Tucker (at the time) was only about a week old and calm as a clear blue sky. His dad plays softball so I thought it would be fun to get creative and use his worn mitt in some of the shots – I love how they turned out. What do you think?

I am all about young, up and coming businesses and entreprenauers so when I saw MOTHCO and what it was all about I was so excited. A lot of people lose sight of WHY they started something. It becomes about the fame, the glory, being cool, having so many followers on instragram and we tend to forget what our original purpose and passion was. The reason WHY we want to reach that many followers. Not to be cool, but to reach the nations with the good word and love of God. There is something so amazing about a fresh vision and pure heart. Samuel Bernhardt and Kaylynn Bert began More Than Conquerors which started as a fundraiser for local families who were impacted by cancer. This purpose has continued in their mission to partner with people and meaningful organizations by providing them with funds that come from their profit. They believe in taking responsibility for the social needs around them and using what God has given them to bless others.
“We believe in purpose more than profits. Currently, we are partnered with Urban Hope, a Christian organization dedicated to the mission of providing believers with cross-cultural training and experience in urban ministry. We’re More Than Conquerors Clothing, and we make great clothes to support great organizations.”
How awesome is that!? What they’re doing is truly amazing and touching so many. I wanted to help them grow their business and be a part of this reach in some way or another. I firmly believe in supporting ministries; though you may not be the one going and doing what they’re doing, if you’re pouring into their ministry you’re planting oats into their harvest. So good. I also love putting together things during my less busy seasons to keep the creative juices flowing. It feels so great just to get creative and have fun! So this Winter we teamed up and put together a styled shoot for their 2014 Winter Look book! I am so excited to share my favorite images from this session with you. Make sure to check out the full look book over on the MOTHCO website!

Matt and Ariel are two of the funnest, sweetest, cutest couples I’ve ever met. This was one of those sessions that I just couldn’t put my camera down! I love when my job allows me to push past “the normal”; when I can feel myself enter into a place of creativity flooding my being. It’s such an amazing feeling and I’m so honored my clients choose to let me in their life for special occasions to create special memories. It’s not just about the actual pose or photograph. It’s about how you felt when taking that photograph. The smells, the songs you favored that time in your life, the feeling of laughing and kissing the one you’re in love with, newly engaged preparing for your wedding, all those kinds of things. And then I get to step in and document creative photographs to embody that time in your life, for you to look back on and always remember those memories. AH. It’s so awesome.
This session was one that completely re-motivated and inspired me last year and has me so excited for all of my 2015 weddings and couples. Matt and Ariel instantly felt like friends and were just so darn photogenic. Though it’s super hard to choose, I think my favorite shot is the black and white holding hands image. Which is yours!?

I’ve known Dan and Kara for quite some time now. I shot there engagement photos back in 2013 and now had the pleasure of shooting their one year anniversary session this past Fall! Dan was my husbands best man in our September 2014 wedding, and Kara has been one of my closest girlfriends for the last year. It’s been so much fun growing together in the newly married stages of life, venting and laughing through all of the different experiences married life brings. Dan and Kara were also with us at the race that my husband Caleb recently broke both of his knees in. They’ve continually been supportive, kind, fun friends and we are so thankful for them in our lives! Something so special to me about this session was knowing Dan and Kara’s hearts, struggles, and joys then getting to capture their love at this special stage in life. To me, nothing beats walking through life with people in sincere friendship and then getting to capture them in photographs.
I also think the way Dan still looks at Kara in some of these images like he’s smitten is the cutest thing ever, and Kara’s unstoppable grin in reaction to her man is just plain adorable.

Photographing two beautiful people in love is one thing, but photographing two beautiful people in love who have a passion for creativity and art is a whole new level of awesome. Kirk and Courtney have quickly become two good friends of mine ever since we first met when they hired me two years ago to photograph their engagement session in the Summer of 2013, and their wedding later in September 2013. Courtney later started doing some part time editing for MNP and our bond quickly grew from “hey, you’re cool” to “hey, let’s be friends”. Kirk also happens to be a super talented graphic designer and I was lucky enough to have him design/print some stationary for my wedding this past September! Part of my payment to him was a creative-swap which included a styled shoot. I was so blessed by their generosity and creativity. Kirk, Courtney and I met up at Mount Gretna this past Fall and walked around the Jigger shop and all the cute little summer homes there. We had so much fun talking and laughing about our newlywed experiences as we walked around and found some fun photo ops. I had such a great time with these two and am so excited to be sharing these photos with y’all!
Happy Wednesday!

A few times each season I luck out with the dreamiest weather conditions for the session I am photographing. This folks, was one of those times. The sunniest, melt your eyes dusk sunset graced a little walking trail by F&M College in Lancaster City for my engagement session with Eric and Lisa. They probably thought I was wing-bat crazy by the way I was geeking out over the images on my camera. But once they saw them, they totally joined me in my parade of happy dancing around in excitement! It’s rare when the weather syncs up with your ideal setting and creates the best canvas for photos. S’good.
Shortly after our engagement session last Summer, Eric and Lisa tied the knot in the most beautiful Fall wedding on October 11th, 2014. It was so fun getting to know them at this session and then later witnessing them make their life long commitment to love one another forever. I swear I tear up every time. One of the reasons we highly recommend booking a package that includes an engagement session (or adding on an engagement session) is because it gives us a chance to truly get to know you as a couple before your big day; It makes it so much more personal. We always have so much fun adventuring around taking photos of you, laughing and talking and getting to know how you interact with one another and in front of a camera. It’s the best way for us to prepare how to best capture you. Eric and Lisa were so adventurous and up for anything I asked them to do! It was great. And their pups were so adorable – I love the bond between a man and his pet, it’s so special. I understand it even better now since having my own first puppy. It was so sweet, at their wedding while we were walking around in between poses Eric and Lisa and I were gushing over dogs and training and newly married life. I love when clients feel like friends I’ve already known for awhile! And now.. I’ll just let the photos speak for themselves because well.. they’re amazing and some of my favorite to date.

I was looking forward to photographing Matt and Ali’s wedding day ever since their engagement session. They’re the kind of people I immediately felt a connection with; anyone probably would. They’re kind hearted, warm, fun, adventurous.. the list goes on! I wanted to burst out and say “can we be best friends!?” but thought I better not scare them off ..(play it cool meg, play it cool). Their wedding day was nothing short of beautifully and amazingly awesome. Is that too many adjectives?
This country-chic wedding took place in the woods (yyyyyesss) at Rocky Top Lodge – hands down one of my favorite venues to date. The rustic camp-cabinesque vibe and sun soaked woods made for some beyond dreamy images. Creamy colors mixed with bold navy blue and lavender purple hit the spot. Ali poured her heart and soul into their big day and all of it’s details. It was so evident in how relaxed the entire day felt as well as how wonderful everything came together. This couple loves one another and they love their family. It was so neat to witness them honoring Christ, family and each other in special moments of the day. One of my favorites was when Matt came down from the arbor to walk Ali up the stairs, and he took a minute to not just hug but embrace each parent. They also had their parents read a letter/blessing during the ceremony which provided many tears, smiles and laughter. Matt was so attentive and eager to see his bride, it was adorable. The anxious/overwhelming sense of love and excitement made this day so memorable. It also (obviously) made me SO excited for my own wedding (which was just a few months later). Ali was so sweet and welcomed me with a “you’re next!!!” hug. I just love these two.
I’m a huge campfire lover so you know I was all about the bonfire they had on the yard after sunset with the sound of laughter and dancing fading into the night. Katherine (my intern at the time) and I had such a great time photographing this special, special day and couldn’t be happier to share it with you all. Whose ready for this summer time sunshine!? Makes me so excited for all of the 2015 weddings coming up.
