When Graham and Sarah decided they wanted to go above and beyond in their wedding package/experience with us, we knew it was going to be a ton of fun to work with them to bring their dreams to life! You’ve seen our wicked stylist Kelsey Courtney of Style By Rae work her magic at a few of our portrait sessions and she always add’s so much wonderful to every shoot that she styles, so we decided to start offering a wedding package that includes her services for a engagement session!
Kelsey worked with Sarah to help style her three different outfits, props, and photo ideas. We started out with a fun little walk through the woods scene including their adorable little pup. Kelsey even thought to add in a fun hat for some variation. Graham and Sarah are the truest definition of candy lovers, so for their second scene they wanted to emulate their fun loving personalities mixed with their love for candy. What better way then to make some cotton candy pops! One of my favorite aspects to this session was Kelsey’s “picnic scene” she put so much thought and work into. She found a vintage picnic basket, the perfect IKEA blanket, and grabbed all the yummy necessities for a delicious picnic at Central Market! She sliced and diced her magic and even managed to grab a bottle of the couples favorite wine! Mmm. For our last “scene” Kelsey made the most beautiful flower crown, and we danced away the sunlight in the lake for some silhouette images.
I’ve definitely learned that when working together on a styled shoot with Kelsey, I need to allow myself WAY more time at a session because I could just shoot all day when she brings her magic to the table. It’s such a fun way to add personality and a story to your session!

Last October I shot one of my first morning sessions, and let me just tell you, I officially want to do every session in the morning with sunrise. The lighting was SO romantic and perfect. There was this amazing fog filling the sky which looked so magical in the photos. The brisk chill of the fresh morning air paired with this adorable couple in love..and their cute little pup. Heck yes.
My editor Jordan immediately texted me “SWOONING” while editing through this session. We were all gaga. I actually photographed Ryan and Adrienne’s wedding this April and can’t wait to share the images from their wedding day with you all as well! Keep your eyes peeled. 🙂

When Joe and Courtney first booked me for their September, 2016 wedding, I could just sense something special about them. They met at the top of the Prudential Center in Boston. It was at the beginning of their freshman year at Northeastern University and during their “Intro to Architecture” class trip. Since then they have graduated twice, lived in three cities, studied abroad, ran two half-marathons, traveled to seven countries, saw five Broadway musicals, attended twenty-five baseball games, and have visited five amusement parks. Two thousand, seven hundred, and thirty-six days later, they’re tying the knot!
Joe and Courtney are both architects and currently live in the heart of Brooklyn, NY. When they told me how important photos were to them and that they wanted to do their engagement session at a local park they frequent often, I couldn’t contain my excitement! My lovely mom made the best road trip buddy, and we spent the morning in Brooklyn laughing our faces off at my driving through Tines Square, eating the most delicious local bagel sandwiches, and ended the evening with Joe and Courtney showing us their favorite pizza shop which did noooot disappoint! It was seriously the best day.
Joe and Courtney were so effortless to photograph. Literally, I’m not even sure if I posed them at all!? They are naturally in love, which made for naturally happy looking photos! I still can’t stop smiling like a doof at my computer screen over their adorable chemistry and relationship.
I had too many favorites to count so, enjoy!!

I had such a fun time photographing Tom and Lauren right in my very own backyard! Speedwell Lake was recently put back in which makes my heart so, so happy. We explored all around the woods and ended right in the lake. Here are a few of my favorites!

Tyler and Tina were such a fun pair to photograph! We risked getting caught in a crazy storm for their photos and we’re so happy we did! They were so easy to get along with, were willing to do anything for a great shot, and brought ICE CREAM. I’m especially glad they brought along their canoe. It’s always the best when couples bring an item or prop that’s true to who they are as a couple or that represents them and/or their relationship well. I am so excited to photograph their October wedding!

Two weeks ago, when the sun FIALLY decided to make an appearance, Lance and Courtney met me in Downtown Lancaster for their engagement session! We had such a fun time walking around downtown. We started out at the newest coffee shop “Passenger Coffee” which has the most beautiful aesthetic. Lance and Courtney are truly best friends, and they make anyone hanging out with them feel like their friends. I didn’t want to stop hanging out! That’s always a great feeling to have with clients.
I can’t wait for their October wedding this Fall! Until then, enjoy some of my favorites from their engagement session!

Daryl and Bri are getting married June 4th and I couldn’t be more excited for their big day! They are such a sweet couple and compliment one another so well. We had such a blast exploring at Chickies Rock this past Summer for their engagement session. These water photographs are some of my favorites that I’ve ever taken! Daryl was twirling Bri in the warm, fading summer sun and the sky cascaded in hues of pinks and oranges over them. It was magical!

I photographed Steve and Sarah’s engagement photos in June, and then photographed their wedding in October (photos to come soon). The minute I met them I instantly felt like I was meeting up with two best friends. They were so kind and friendly and we all instantly felt at ease with one another. We had the best time walking around the town they grew up in and live in nestled in a quaint little nook of Baltimore. The streets were colorful, and all the smiles and laughs were 100% real and unprovoked. These two just light one another up! It was adorable and made my job effortless. Oh, and Steve even busted out in the worm for me. I mean, that’s an instant win. It is always such a blessing to have clients who trust me and my vision for their photographs and are willing to get adventurous!
I’ll be posting their wedding images super soon! But until I do, take some time to get to know Steven and Sarah with my favorite’s from our engagement session together.

Matt and Ariel are two of the funnest, sweetest, cutest couples I’ve ever met. This was one of those sessions that I just couldn’t put my camera down! I love when my job allows me to push past “the normal”; when I can feel myself enter into a place of creativity flooding my being. It’s such an amazing feeling and I’m so honored my clients choose to let me in their life for special occasions to create special memories. It’s not just about the actual pose or photograph. It’s about how you felt when taking that photograph. The smells, the songs you favored that time in your life, the feeling of laughing and kissing the one you’re in love with, newly engaged preparing for your wedding, all those kinds of things. And then I get to step in and document creative photographs to embody that time in your life, for you to look back on and always remember those memories. AH. It’s so awesome.
This session was one that completely re-motivated and inspired me last year and has me so excited for all of my 2015 weddings and couples. Matt and Ariel instantly felt like friends and were just so darn photogenic. Though it’s super hard to choose, I think my favorite shot is the black and white holding hands image. Which is yours!?

Sean and I play together on the worship team at my church and the night he came in and told us all that he was engaged, I basically peed myself with excitement. But, I’m a girl and we’re allowed to have those moments. The night of Sean and Camille’s engagements, we headed over to Sean’s parent’s huge backyard which was AWESOME! Towards the middle of our shoot, Sean headed inside to grab a blanket and when he came back out, his dogs made their great escape! The two kept finding a way to sneak into our photos so, in many of the images, I’m actually petting the dogs with one hand and taking the photo with other (I know, impressive.) All in all, it was a perfect night with beauuuutiful weather, cackles and one super sweet couple. Check out these two models!
