Two weeks ago, when the sun FIALLY decided to make an appearance, Lance and Courtney met me in Downtown Lancaster for their engagement session! We had such a fun time walking around downtown. We started out at the newest coffee shop “Passenger Coffee” which has the most beautiful aesthetic. Lance and Courtney are truly best friends, and they make anyone hanging out with them feel like their friends. I didn’t want to stop hanging out! That’s always a great feeling to have with clients.
I can’t wait for their October wedding this Fall! Until then, enjoy some of my favorites from their engagement session!
My next wedding of the year is coming up in March for these two love birds, Jason and Karlee! In honor of that, I thought I would share their adorable engagement session from this past Summer. I mean, just look at that awesome hat! It was a perfect summer evening at Chickies Rock, and we even ended the session dipping our toes in the river. Well, poor Karlee wound up taking a bit more of a dip then the rest of us, but she was such a trooper and it made for some stunning shots of them laughing together at the thought of her spill. Luckily, that happened at the end of our session! Jason and Karlee fit together like peanut butter and jelly. Seriously! These two are golden together and I can’t wait to be a part of their Spring time wedding.
A few times each season I luck out with the dreamiest weather conditions for the session I am photographing. This folks, was one of those times. The sunniest, melt your eyes dusk sunset graced a little walking trail by F&M College in Lancaster City for my engagement session with Eric and Lisa. They probably thought I was wing-bat crazy by the way I was geeking out over the images on my camera. But once they saw them, they totally joined me in my parade of happy dancing around in excitement! It’s rare when the weather syncs up with your ideal setting and creates the best canvas for photos. S’good.
Shortly after our engagement session last Summer, Eric and Lisa tied the knot in the most beautiful Fall wedding on October 11th, 2014. It was so fun getting to know them at this session and then later witnessing them make their life long commitment to love one another forever. I swear I tear up every time. One of the reasons we highly recommend booking a package that includes an engagement session (or adding on an engagement session) is because it gives us a chance to truly get to know you as a couple before your big day; It makes it so much more personal. We always have so much fun adventuring around taking photos of you, laughing and talking and getting to know how you interact with one another and in front of a camera. It’s the best way for us to prepare how to best capture you. Eric and Lisa were so adventurous and up for anything I asked them to do! It was great. And their pups were so adorable – I love the bond between a man and his pet, it’s so special. I understand it even better now since having my own first puppy. It was so sweet, at their wedding while we were walking around in between poses Eric and Lisa and I were gushing over dogs and training and newly married life. I love when clients feel like friends I’ve already known for awhile! And now.. I’ll just let the photos speak for themselves because well.. they’re amazing and some of my favorite to date.
I am so excited to finally be sharing all of the amazing sessions and weddings I shot in 2014! I have some major blogging and catching up to do. I thought I’d start with this adorable little man, Mason. This was my second year photographing him and we already have the next date for 2015 on the calendar – I’m so pumped! Mason has such an outgoing personality! He didn’t hold back in front of the camera or shy away from serenading me with his little guitar. ADORABLE. It’s so great to not only capture someones special season in life, but to have the chance to follow them along throughout life and continue to capture the change and growth in all their different seasons. Here are a few of my favorite shots from our Summer play-date in the park. 🙂
It’s crazy to me that this is our THIRD “working at work” or “Behind The Scenes” end of the year blog post we’ve done! The years are flying by and all have been filled with more and more amazing faces, assistants, interns and clients. I look forward to putting this post together each year. These are shots my second shooters + assistants and I have captured while shooting weddings and portrait sessions. Some may be us testing out our lighting, a photo location, or just being silly cause that’s just how we roll. ha ha. It’s always so fun to look back and see what was happening on the OTHER side of the camera to produce some of the beautiful images you’ve seen us share and post. It’s a good mix of iPhone + our professional camera’s shots so bare with us with the quality.
This year has been FILLED to the brim with goodness. I got engaged over last December (12.19.13 to be exact), hired my first employee Tori who is stinkin’ awesome, took on 2 interns Julia and Katherine, planned a wedding, had some aspiring photographers shadow me for the day, GOT MARRIED, got a puppy, photographed three of my closest friends weddings, and became a featured photographer on The Knot.. and that’s just naming a few of the memories 2014 held. God tuaght me so much this year and I am forever grateful for the doors He continually opens for us and this business. It was a year of trial and error, learning, growing, loving, and so much more. One of my favorite memories from this year was planning my own wedding while photographing 1-2 weddings every weekend! I am already a super indecisive person, so experiencing so many different ideas and styles of all of these amazing weddings was not an easy task. But it also made it so fun for me to connect with my brides on a newer level that I never truly understood until I was a bride-to-be myself. You can imagine how many iPhone shots/texts my poor fiance had to put up with every time I would get a new idea from the wedding that I was photographing. ha!
Thank you times a billion to every person who made this year possible, for helping me keep my sanity during the last few months leading up to my wedding, and for all of the patience and help I received while I moved into a new home, became a wife and.. got a puppy! From second shooters, assistants, editors, interns, friends, family, and clients (and my mom for letting me borrow your cool antique blankets and chairs for props). You are truly appreciated and made 2014 so great. We have some super exciting things happening in 2015 for our brand + team and we can’t wait to reveal it all to you super soon!
*These photos are starting at Winter of 2013 all the way through to Winter of 2014. I also attached some of my wedding photos at the very end! Compliments of Jeremiah and Rachel Photography. 🙂
Happy New Years!!!
The MNP Team
I first met the Schantz family through my fiance, Caleb. His best friend Kent has a brother named Randy (who is married to Anna). Anna and I had gotten to know one another through facebook/IG and then later on some of Calebs campfires. We bonded over our mutual appreciation for photography; well, and their super adorable daughter Mela. Anna contacted me to do a family/maternity session for them AND their best friends .. the Lapps (Tim, Morgan and Noah)! I was a little anxious about how this was going to since I’d never done two separate families at once before but holy cheese balls was it amazing. Both families were so laid back and fun! And on top of that the weather was beyond picture perfect. The trees mixed with the warm sun glowing through..mm. My happy place. Mela and Noah are basically destined to get married.. and I’m pretty sure they’re already boyfriend + girlfriend in the cutest, most innocent way possible.
I think my favorite part of the session was when Noah leaned in to give Mela a kiss and she leaned back like “WHATCHU DOIN BOY..my dads watchin”. But then a second later changed her mind and let him kiss her (maybe dad was looking away then)- HA! These people were such a joy to be around! It makes my job so awesome when the families are so fun-loving and keep me on my toes with their jokes and down-to-earth attitudes. I honestly didn’t want the night to end .. and that’s always a good thing! Enjoy!
