Everyone, meet my baby boy Owen Davis! He was born December 31st at 1:22am, 5lbs and 12oz. He’s changed quite a bit since this newborn session that I took when he was a week old in our home. I’ve been snappin photos of him left + right, so I’m sure you can expect to see some updated portraits coming soon!
I’m officially off of maternity leave and getting back into the groove of things. Hello emails + editing galore! Finding time in between my sweet boys naps has me all sorts of confuzzled since I was so used to being able to sit down and pump work out hours on end, whenever I felt like it! But alas, I’ve fiiiinally finished editing and now blogging his newborn session. Looking back at these images has been so much fun. I can’t believe how tiny Owen was! I did bare minimal editing to these images because I wanted to remember every little detail about him – the peach fuzz, the infant rash, tiny little scratches he gave himself because it was near impossible to clip his nails at first..all of it! I used an array of new muslin blankets I’d been gifted + collected, as well as hand knit blankets passed down from my mom and great grandma (that were once used on me)! It was so special getting to pass along these blankets, keeping them in the family and wrapping Owen up in them. He’s really taken to one in particular and I’m fairly certain it’s going to be “his blanky” through the years.
I went for a more minimalistic approach with these images, focusing on capturing all of the silly faces and expressions Owen made. Keep in mind, I literally just gave birth to a baby and wasn’t getting around the best, so it is what it is! But I’m super proud of how they turned out and love that I got to snap a few memories in between each setting when Caleb or my mom or family got to hold Owen and help me out. For all NB sessions, there’s always multiple milk breaks. You’ll notice a ton of “trying to nurse” photos – haha! In the beginning of his life, and well, let’s be honest, still to this day – when o-bear get’s hungry he’ll try and latch on to anything and everything near his face. Pacifier’s, shirts, blankets, hands, the chest of whoever is holding him.. it’s pretty adorable. Luckily he’s started learning better what actually gives him the goods.
You will also find some shots of our nursery that I worked tirelessly on through out my pregnancy! It was so much fun getting to be creative and piece together everything. We went with a modern, minimalistic woodsy theme! Bears and dears and natural elements galore. Links to everything below!

Micah is a senior at Lititz Christian School, and eagerly waiting for graduation to make her big move to .. ALASKA! This girl is super driven, adventurous and sweet. I can only imagine all of the exciting things she’s going to embark on in her lifetime. Micah chose to go with our deluxe package, which offers two, one hour sessions (either on the same day or split into two separate days). This is such a great option for all you girlies out there who want to be able to style your hair differently (the daily struggle of curly vs straight is a real thing- ha!).
Micah split her sessions into two days, which was super fun. She went with a more natural, curly look for her woodsy session because she is a total nature lover. We photographed around Speedwell Lake for these. For her second session she wanted to go with something a little more edgy and urban. We photographed in some back alley’s of Lititz for this vibe. Her outfits were the perfect picks for each location.
Here are a few of my favorite shots that we captured!

Matt and Ariel are two of the funnest, sweetest, cutest couples I’ve ever met. This was one of those sessions that I just couldn’t put my camera down! I love when my job allows me to push past “the normal”; when I can feel myself enter into a place of creativity flooding my being. It’s such an amazing feeling and I’m so honored my clients choose to let me in their life for special occasions to create special memories. It’s not just about the actual pose or photograph. It’s about how you felt when taking that photograph. The smells, the songs you favored that time in your life, the feeling of laughing and kissing the one you’re in love with, newly engaged preparing for your wedding, all those kinds of things. And then I get to step in and document creative photographs to embody that time in your life, for you to look back on and always remember those memories. AH. It’s so awesome.
This session was one that completely re-motivated and inspired me last year and has me so excited for all of my 2015 weddings and couples. Matt and Ariel instantly felt like friends and were just so darn photogenic. Though it’s super hard to choose, I think my favorite shot is the black and white holding hands image. Which is yours!?

Though I don’t get to shoot senior sessions as much as I used to, they have always been one of my favorite’s! I completely love one-on-one portrait time. It really allows creativity to flow, especially when the person is as laid back and easy going as Katie! Talk about photogenic. We met up at Lititz Springs Park over the Summer and had a blast switching up outfits and locations around the park. It’s fun to look back and see how much I’ve grown and how my editing has evolved just from this past Summer. Here are a few of my favorites for you to enjoy! 🙂
This week I thought I’d share something personal with you! I had rented the Canon 5D mark iii (the most glorious camera on earth) this past weekend for a wedding. I figured I’d take advantage of having it and document my July 4th for fun! It was such a fun, relaxing day filled with warm sun, happy souls, and fun memories. A huge way to my heart is cookouts, swimming, campfires and fireworks. Prrrobably why July 4th remains to be one of my all time favorite holidays.
My fiance Caleb and his dad flew to Ohio a few weeks ago and literally filled their entire plane jammed pack with all kinds of sweet fireworks. Since our towns local fireworks had been post-poned due to rain the day before, we decided to set off our own show! So we invited a few of our close friends and both our families, laid out in the field and watched all the men set off a great show for us. We were laughing at how all guys seem to gravitate towards anything that has to do with flames + danger. Listening to their conversations and strategies while setting off the fireworks made it even better.
It was an awesome day. Here are some of the shots I took throughout my July 4th! How did you spend yours!? 🙂
Are you all ready to feist your eyes on two of the most beautiful, photogenic people in the world!? Dylan, Nina and I went to middle school + high school together, graduated together and have been close friends ever since. Anytime I’ve needed models to test out new ideas and shots on they’re my go-to couple. Dylan and Nina had secret crushes on each other all through our school career and finally began dating our senior year. And the rest is history. It’s been a high-school-sweetheart-love-story as they took off to college together and have now graduated and began their careers together in Pittsburg! Dylan is the sweetest guy and so perfect for Nina. My heart burst when Dylan told us he was going to propose and getting the text of Nina’s big smile the night it happened.
Anyone who knows Nina knows you can expect 24/7 goofy faces, weird voices, and random-spur-of-the-moment dance moves coming at you from every angle. I think Dylan has learned how to keep up with her spunk quite well. Together they’re beautiful, full of love, down-to-earth, determined, passionate, kind, and un-stoppable. I am beyond blessed to be their photographer and capture the day they say “I Do”. (Which just so happens to be two weeks after MY wedding! WHOO!)
Now go ahead, begin the drooling process over their gorgeous images..
