Tori and I still talk about Armin and Rebecca’s wedding day to this very day. Probably because we learned a sweet armanian dance move thanks to Armin and their awesome friends and family. After watching the whole dance floor erupt in this jazzing dance we’d never seen before, we kept trying to mimic/learn it. After witnessing our failed attempts Armin came up to us laughing and said “pretend you’re screwing in light bulbs”.. “AHHH!” we proclaimed. Thus, the rest of the night we couldn’t stop exercising our new found move.
But in all seriousness, I don’t even know where to start with these two! Some adjectives that come to mind when I think about their wedding: family, traditions, special, close, kind, vintage, antique, SO HAPPY, unique, enchanting, thoughtful, and just perfect. Rebecca had so many wonderful details all unique to her own style. Like those shoes! Our eyes immediately turned into big ole red hearts. They had a non traditional bridal party which was made the whole day feel so much more intimate. Armin had his sister on his side, and Rebecca had her sister on her side. They also had Rebecca’s grandmother as the “flower girl”, how sweet!? There were so many neat touches like the family history table, which had both of their mothers vintage wedding dresses showcased, as well as photos and family heirlooms. There was also a lot of traditions weaved in, in honor of Armin’s family and their culture. I loved the table at the reception that held a ton of things that I’m not even going to pretend to know what they were, but it was super cool.
Armin and Rebecca have been together for 16 years. YOU GUYS. You can’t make up this kind of love story. Their story, their vows, their toasts, their conversations, their gazes towards one another.. it was all like something out of a fairy tale book. I honestly believe they were made for one another and I was so, so honored to be the one who got to document their wedding day.
Lauxmont Farms is one of my all time favorite wedding venues. Especially their rotunda venue! These views were unbeatable and the sunset was killer. I love how big and open and white the indoor faciloity is, and how much natural light it allows to flow in through the floor to ceiling windows. It totally gives you the practicalness of an indoor wedding while still allowing you to have that magical outdoor feel.
I could talk all day about this wedding, but instead I’ll let you soak it in for yourself with the images..

Cody and Sierra were such a dream to photograph! Sierra is an aspiring photographer, and one of the few I’ve met that are super comfortable both behind AND in front of it. She contacted me to take some fun photos of her and her boyfriend back when I was running a mini-shoot promo. All of Sierras thrifted suitcases, cameras and accessories were the perfect combo for this vintage-styled shoot. Cody was such a sweet-heart, you only have to be around him for a few minutes to pick up on his genuine, kind, good-hearted personality. They duo compliment one another perfectly which is good because.. THEY JUST GOT ENGAGED! We were literally talking about their future plans at the shoot and then a few days later on FB I see the announcement! Cody must have been peeing his pants in excitement knowing he was about to propose while Sierra and I were having a girl-talk moment about it. I gotta give guys props- I don’t know how they are so good at keeping it a secret because I’m pretty sure I’d be bursting at the seems or doing some crazy dance to keep myself sane while people are asking me if an engagement is in the works. But then again, I suck at hiding my excitement/keeping secrets, ha ha!
Enjoy these vintage styled photos!
Meagan Nicole
Well folks, I am very excited to announce that Meagan Nicole Photography is growing once again! We have officially hired two interns!!! They will be with us June-November 2014 and we are all so pumped to see what this year has in store for us all together. You will be seeing them along with me at weddings and most photo shoots! It’s only been a week and it’s already been pretty radical. We’ve been jumping in our seats to announce the two, beautiful girls so today we are doing just that! Take a look and get to know two of my super cute, talented friends.. Julia and Katherine! 🙂
Three things you should know- they smile a lot, they’re the same age, and if you want to be their friend.. take them to a cafe or yard sale!
KATHERINE:
Q: So, what do people call you and how long have you been on this earth?
A: Katherine Zell and I am 22 years old!
Q: Besides this internship and photography, where do you currently work?
A: I nanny and work at Garden Spot Village retirement home!
Q: Tell us a little about your background/journey with photography?
A: I took darkroom and digital classes in high school and loved them, but I never seriously thought about pursuing photography as a career until I was out of HS. I attended Philadelphia Biblical University (now known as CAIRN) for a semester and begun taking more pictures of my friends and that’s when it struck me that maybe photography would be something I am interested in pursuing. So, I attended HACC for the next two semesters just getting my foundation classes out of the way and then began at PCAD where I am currently going into my senior year as a photography major!
Q: What are you most excited about with this internship?
A: I am most excited about getting to work with the lovely Meagan, meet new people, experiment with ideas, learn the business end of things and develop a more solid workflow.
Q: Besides photography, what other hobbies and interests do you enjoy?
A: I LOVE the outdoors and going on adventures! Woods, beach, lake, I love it all! I also enjoy running, playing soccer, reading and spending time with family and friends.
Q: So tell us, what’s one of the COOLEST things you’ve ever done in life?
A: A few summers ago my dad and I hiked Half Dome in Yosemite National Park in California. The Half Dome trail is a 17 mile hike, which rises 5,000 feet above Yosemite Valley and 8,800 feet above sea level! It was definitely one of the coolest, craziest, and most demanding things I have ever done. I also ran a half marathon this past December at PSU. It was 20 degrees and started snowing the last 4 miles of the race. It was beyond “cool”..(it was freezing- see what I just did there..haha!)
Q: Cats or Dogs?
A: Dogs, definitely.
Q: Mountains or beach?
A: Thats a tough one! I think it depends on the time of year. I’m a total beach bum but I love the solitude and adventure of the mountains!
Q: The BIG question, coffee or tea?!
A: Tea. Vanilla Chai to be exact!
Q: So, before we go drool over your gorgeous photos.. what is one of your most guilty pleasures?
A: SWEET THINGS! Cookies, ice cream, cake, chocolate pie! I have a really hard time passing them up and I can usually find room for them no matter how full I am.
JULIA:
Q: So, what do people call you and how long have you been on this earth?
A: Julia and I am 22 years old!
Q: Besides this internship and photography, where do you currently work?
A: I’m rockin’ two jobs right now- a barista at Bakery At The Cupboard, and a receptionist at Pure Joy Salon.
Q: Tell us a little about your background/journey with photography?
A: I first realized my love of photography in 8th grade. I got my first “real” camera from my parents at 15 and started taking pictures of everything and everyone as often as possible. I didn’t go to school for photography because I was tricked into thinking it was more of a hobby then a possible profession. However, in the last year I’ve seen that it has brought me so much more joy then I realized. When you’re doing something you love and something you’re meant to do, there’s a new life that gets breathed into you. For me, that life was God’s way of telling me this is something I should press on with and pursue wholeheartedly.
Q: What are you most excited about with this internship?
A: I am so excited to learn by Meagan’s example and to get hands on experience in areas where I have been timid. To burst out of my comfort zone and experience true growth.
Q: Besides photography, what other hobbies and interests do you enjoy?
A: I enjoy being outside and hiking, having a jam sesh with my fiance on our guitar and ukelele, or vegging in front of the tv to watch Parks and Rec. 😉
Q: So tell us, what’s one of the COOLEST things you’ve ever done in life?
A: Going to Kona, Hawaii for YWAM was definitely my life’s biggest adventure so far. That trip in itself brought about several of the most stretching and growing experiences in my life.
Q: Cats or Dogs?
A: I would take either one, provided they don’t shed or slobber.
Q: Mountains or beach?
A: BEACH!
Q: The BIG question, coffee or tea?!
A: Coffee. By the gallon.
Q: So, before we go drool over your gorgeous photos.. what is one of your most guilty pleasures?
A: I like show tunes .. a lot. I like to sing them loud and proud in my car with the windows down. It’s really quite shameful.
This Sunday my mom and sister threw me a surprise bridal shower! I knew I was having the bridal shower, but I had absolutely nothing to do with the planning so I had no clue what to expect or who would be coming (although seeing random pieces of thrifted china and table clothes hidden around the house was getting me very excited!). It was more beautiful than I could’ve imaged and exactly what I hoped for. So many lovely faces came that I wasn’t expecting which made it all the sweeter. The theme was an outdoor garden party! My mom made her famous chicken salad recipe, a blueberry-raspberry-strawberry fruit medley, and greens with an olive oil lemon dressing (the one they use at Tomato Pie) YUM! The vintage dresser held two baskets- everyone brought their favorite kitchen spice or cleaning item (which went in the awesome, wooden hamper my nana gifted us to the right of the dresser)! I loved the date night jar. Everyone wrote down date ideas on popcycle sticks for Caleb and I. We’ve been enjoying reading everyones recommendations.. especially the hilarious X-rated ones. haha!
If you’re wondering why my face looks so crazy in the opening-gifts photos it’s because we were playing the bubble gum game! Previously my sister had asked Caleb a bunch of random questions that he gave his answers to. While opening gifts, I was asked these questions as well and had to try and answer the same as Caleb did. For every question I got wrong I gad to put a piece of gum in my mouth. I actually did pretty good but still wound up with a few wads of gum, whoops. I never thought I could get tired of bubble gum until Sunday. HA! This was such a fun and exciting day! Huge thank you’s to my mom and sister for pulling it all together and getting so creative.. I know how much work and thought you put into everything to make it perfect for me and it means so much! To each and every lady that came to the party- you all made me feel so loved and blessed! Thank you for celebrating this time in my life; Caleb and I are beyond thankful for all of the amazing gifts and well wishes you showered us with. 🙂

**All photographs taken by my amazing friend Rebekah of Rebekah Viola Photography! Thank you so much for capturing these memories for me.

Brandon and Sarah are two of the calmest, sweetest people I’ve had the pleasure of working with. The entire day felt so laid back and enjoyable. It was my first time shooting at the Carlisle Ribbon Mill – such a beautiful place! We absolutely loved the urban meets chic feel to the interior and exterior. A big open warehouse with brick walls, big windows, lovely wood.. such a perfect host for Sarahs vintage, chic, soft wedding details. Man, those details. It was so hard to pinpoint some of my favorites because there were literally so many.
My second shooter Rebekah Viola and I have been waiting to share this wedding with you – it is definitely one for the books! Brandon and Sarah, thank you so much for inviting us into your wedding and having us capture such sweet memories for you. The way you interact with one another is so beautiful to witness.. for real. I couldn’t stop smiling so much that my cheeks hurt at the end of the night and I even shed a few tears during the ceremony. #honesttimewithmeg
Hold on to your seats, you’re about to witness a gorgeous bride, a handsome groom and a VERY memorable wedding.
Talk Soon,
Meagan Nicole
