You guys. Does this session even need a blog post with it!? I mean, holy cow. Look at this girl! She is gorgeous from the inside out. These are hands down some of my favorite images I took in 2014. Kaylisha braved the severe cold and harsh wind to rock these shots. And let me tell you, she definitely rocked them. Ah, I love senior sessions. This was one of those “I feel totally reinspired and motivated creatively” sessions. The edit, the subject, the location, the cotton candy sunset. I can’t even. The awesome factor is real.

I’ve known Dan and Kara for quite some time now. I shot there engagement photos back in 2013 and now had the pleasure of shooting their one year anniversary session this past Fall! Dan was my husbands best man in our September 2014 wedding, and Kara has been one of my closest girlfriends for the last year. It’s been so much fun growing together in the newly married stages of life, venting and laughing through all of the different experiences married life brings. Dan and Kara were also with us at the race that my husband Caleb recently broke both of his knees in. They’ve continually been supportive, kind, fun friends and we are so thankful for them in our lives! Something so special to me about this session was knowing Dan and Kara’s hearts, struggles, and joys then getting to capture their love at this special stage in life. To me, nothing beats walking through life with people in sincere friendship and then getting to capture them in photographs.
I also think the way Dan still looks at Kara in some of these images like he’s smitten is the cutest thing ever, and Kara’s unstoppable grin in reaction to her man is just plain adorable.

Photographing two beautiful people in love is one thing, but photographing two beautiful people in love who have a passion for creativity and art is a whole new level of awesome. Kirk and Courtney have quickly become two good friends of mine ever since we first met when they hired me two years ago to photograph their engagement session in the Summer of 2013, and their wedding later in September 2013. Courtney later started doing some part time editing for MNP and our bond quickly grew from “hey, you’re cool” to “hey, let’s be friends”. Kirk also happens to be a super talented graphic designer and I was lucky enough to have him design/print some stationary for my wedding this past September! Part of my payment to him was a creative-swap which included a styled shoot. I was so blessed by their generosity and creativity. Kirk, Courtney and I met up at Mount Gretna this past Fall and walked around the Jigger shop and all the cute little summer homes there. We had so much fun talking and laughing about our newlywed experiences as we walked around and found some fun photo ops. I had such a great time with these two and am so excited to be sharing these photos with y’all!
Happy Wednesday!

I was looking forward to photographing Matt and Ali’s wedding day ever since their engagement session. They’re the kind of people I immediately felt a connection with; anyone probably would. They’re kind hearted, warm, fun, adventurous.. the list goes on! I wanted to burst out and say “can we be best friends!?” but thought I better not scare them off ..(play it cool meg, play it cool). Their wedding day was nothing short of beautifully and amazingly awesome. Is that too many adjectives?
This country-chic wedding took place in the woods (yyyyyesss) at Rocky Top Lodge – hands down one of my favorite venues to date. The rustic camp-cabinesque vibe and sun soaked woods made for some beyond dreamy images. Creamy colors mixed with bold navy blue and lavender purple hit the spot. Ali poured her heart and soul into their big day and all of it’s details. It was so evident in how relaxed the entire day felt as well as how wonderful everything came together. This couple loves one another and they love their family. It was so neat to witness them honoring Christ, family and each other in special moments of the day. One of my favorites was when Matt came down from the arbor to walk Ali up the stairs, and he took a minute to not just hug but embrace each parent. They also had their parents read a letter/blessing during the ceremony which provided many tears, smiles and laughter. Matt was so attentive and eager to see his bride, it was adorable. The anxious/overwhelming sense of love and excitement made this day so memorable. It also (obviously) made me SO excited for my own wedding (which was just a few months later). Ali was so sweet and welcomed me with a “you’re next!!!” hug. I just love these two.
I’m a huge campfire lover so you know I was all about the bonfire they had on the yard after sunset with the sound of laughter and dancing fading into the night. Katherine (my intern at the time) and I had such a great time photographing this special, special day and couldn’t be happier to share it with you all. Whose ready for this summer time sunshine!? Makes me so excited for all of the 2015 weddings coming up.

Kent and Ashleigh have been dear friends of mine for quite some time. We first met through photography because Kent is the mastermind behind Kent Mast Photo and Video. It’s a pretty cool story because I got to witness Kent and Ashleigh when they were first hanging out and Kent began to pursue Ashleigh with his whole heart to make her his girlfriend. Then they got engaged in South Carolina and I got to photograph it – so awesome. They celebrated a year of marriage and now.. a baby is on the way! And of COURSE I had them video my very own wedding day! There’s no one better in the business. If you have yet to hire a videographer let me tell you 1. You MUST. It captures your day in a way photos cannot, we highly recommend it, and 2. KMPV is the best you will ever find. So, so worth it. We always love when we get to work weddings together and often refer to ourselves as “the dream team”.
I had such a blast adventuring around in the woods around my new home for these photos! During our session the perfect warm, summer time rain storm passed through and we took total advantage of it. These are hands down some of my favorite images ever. It doesn’t hurt that I’m pretty fond of the folks in them. They’re such sweet souls and I am so excited to watch them become parents! Thank you so much Kent and Ashleigh for your support over the years, business talks, spiritual talks, adventures and friendship. Looking back at these photographs I can’t help but smile at your pure, true love for one another!

Well folks, I am very excited to announce that Meagan Nicole Photography is growing once again! We have officially hired two interns!!! They will be with us June-November 2014 and we are all so pumped to see what this year has in store for us all together. You will be seeing them along with me at weddings and most photo shoots! It’s only been a week and it’s already been pretty radical. We’ve been jumping in our seats to announce the two, beautiful girls so today we are doing just that! Take a look and get to know two of my super cute, talented friends.. Julia and Katherine! 🙂
Three things you should know- they smile a lot, they’re the same age, and if you want to be their friend.. take them to a cafe or yard sale!
KATHERINE:
Q: So, what do people call you and how long have you been on this earth?
A: Katherine Zell and I am 22 years old!
Q: Besides this internship and photography, where do you currently work?
A: I nanny and work at Garden Spot Village retirement home!
Q: Tell us a little about your background/journey with photography?
A: I took darkroom and digital classes in high school and loved them, but I never seriously thought about pursuing photography as a career until I was out of HS. I attended Philadelphia Biblical University (now known as CAIRN) for a semester and begun taking more pictures of my friends and that’s when it struck me that maybe photography would be something I am interested in pursuing. So, I attended HACC for the next two semesters just getting my foundation classes out of the way and then began at PCAD where I am currently going into my senior year as a photography major!
Q: What are you most excited about with this internship?
A: I am most excited about getting to work with the lovely Meagan, meet new people, experiment with ideas, learn the business end of things and develop a more solid workflow.
Q: Besides photography, what other hobbies and interests do you enjoy?
A: I LOVE the outdoors and going on adventures! Woods, beach, lake, I love it all! I also enjoy running, playing soccer, reading and spending time with family and friends.
Q: So tell us, what’s one of the COOLEST things you’ve ever done in life?
A: A few summers ago my dad and I hiked Half Dome in Yosemite National Park in California. The Half Dome trail is a 17 mile hike, which rises 5,000 feet above Yosemite Valley and 8,800 feet above sea level! It was definitely one of the coolest, craziest, and most demanding things I have ever done. I also ran a half marathon this past December at PSU. It was 20 degrees and started snowing the last 4 miles of the race. It was beyond “cool”..(it was freezing- see what I just did there..haha!)
Q: Cats or Dogs?
A: Dogs, definitely.
Q: Mountains or beach?
A: Thats a tough one! I think it depends on the time of year. I’m a total beach bum but I love the solitude and adventure of the mountains!
Q: The BIG question, coffee or tea?!
A: Tea. Vanilla Chai to be exact!
Q: So, before we go drool over your gorgeous photos.. what is one of your most guilty pleasures?
A: SWEET THINGS! Cookies, ice cream, cake, chocolate pie! I have a really hard time passing them up and I can usually find room for them no matter how full I am.
JULIA:
Q: So, what do people call you and how long have you been on this earth?
A: Julia and I am 22 years old!
Q: Besides this internship and photography, where do you currently work?
A: I’m rockin’ two jobs right now- a barista at Bakery At The Cupboard, and a receptionist at Pure Joy Salon.
Q: Tell us a little about your background/journey with photography?
A: I first realized my love of photography in 8th grade. I got my first “real” camera from my parents at 15 and started taking pictures of everything and everyone as often as possible. I didn’t go to school for photography because I was tricked into thinking it was more of a hobby then a possible profession. However, in the last year I’ve seen that it has brought me so much more joy then I realized. When you’re doing something you love and something you’re meant to do, there’s a new life that gets breathed into you. For me, that life was God’s way of telling me this is something I should press on with and pursue wholeheartedly.
Q: What are you most excited about with this internship?
A: I am so excited to learn by Meagan’s example and to get hands on experience in areas where I have been timid. To burst out of my comfort zone and experience true growth.
Q: Besides photography, what other hobbies and interests do you enjoy?
A: I enjoy being outside and hiking, having a jam sesh with my fiance on our guitar and ukelele, or vegging in front of the tv to watch Parks and Rec. 😉
Q: So tell us, what’s one of the COOLEST things you’ve ever done in life?
A: Going to Kona, Hawaii for YWAM was definitely my life’s biggest adventure so far. That trip in itself brought about several of the most stretching and growing experiences in my life.
Q: Cats or Dogs?
A: I would take either one, provided they don’t shed or slobber.
Q: Mountains or beach?
A: BEACH!
Q: The BIG question, coffee or tea?!
A: Coffee. By the gallon.
Q: So, before we go drool over your gorgeous photos.. what is one of your most guilty pleasures?
A: I like show tunes .. a lot. I like to sing them loud and proud in my car with the windows down. It’s really quite shameful.
Sean and I play together on the worship team at my church and the night he came in and told us all that he was engaged, I basically peed myself with excitement. But, I’m a girl and we’re allowed to have those moments. The night of Sean and Camille’s engagements, we headed over to Sean’s parent’s huge backyard which was AWESOME! Towards the middle of our shoot, Sean headed inside to grab a blanket and when he came back out, his dogs made their great escape! The two kept finding a way to sneak into our photos so, in many of the images, I’m actually petting the dogs with one hand and taking the photo with other (I know, impressive.) All in all, it was a perfect night with beauuuutiful weather, cackles and one super sweet couple. Check out these two models!
